On May 29, LT3 researcher Quanqi Du successfully defended his PhD thesis, “When Modalities Disagree: A Perspective-Aware Framework for Multimodal Emotion Recognition.”
The defense was preceded by an engaging Meet the Expert Workshop on Human-Centred AI, led by Tony Belpaeme and Iris Hendrickx, who shared valuable insights into the field of human-centred artificial intelligence.
In his research, Dr. Du investigates how different modalities can convey conflicting emotional signals and introduces a perspective-aware framework that improves multimodal emotion recognition. His work contributes to a deeper understanding of how AI systems can better interpret complex human emotions.
Congratulations, Dr. Quanqi Du, on this outstanding achievement and best wishes for the next chapter of your career!
