ACL 2023

From 9 to 14 July, 2023 the 61st Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL2023) took place in Toronto!

Various LT3 members were present in Toronto:

• Orphée was one of the main organisers of the 13th Workshop on Computational Approaches to Subjectivity, Sentiment & Social Media Analysis (WASSA 2023). With 42 accepted papers, two shared tasks and two keynotes the workshop was, once again, a great success!
• Colin presented his paper on Medieval Social Media: Manual and Automatic Annotation of Byzantine Greek Marginal Writing (with Ilse De Vos and Els) at the 17th LAW workshop.
• Loic presented his research on Leveraging Structural Discourse Information for Event Coreference Resolution in Dutch (with Orphée and Veronique) at the 4th CODI workshop.
• Both Aaron and Luna presented some of their latest research at the WASSA 2023 workshop:
  • Aaron opened the workshop with his work on A Fine Line Between Irony and Sincerity: Identifying Bias in Transformer Models for Irony Detection (with Els, Cynthia and Veronique).
  • Luna presented a poster and sparked discussion on The Paradox of Multilingual Emotion Detection.
