Time for yet another conference recap! Not only did our Translation Technology team attend and present at EAMT 2024, all 3 workshops at the conference were co-organised by LT3 members.
Let’s dive in:
EAMT 2024 took place in Sheffield on 24 - 27 June 2024.
There were 2 LT3 poster presentations at the Product & Projects track of the main conference:
1st Workshop on Creative-text Translation and Technology
Lieve and Paola co-organized CTT 2024 together with ex-colleague Bram Vanroy and Marie-Aude Lefer. The workshop focused on the applicability of language technology, specifically translation technology such as machine translation (MT) or computer-assisted translation (CAT), to creative use cases. During the workshop, there were 2 presentations by LT3 members:
2nd International Workshop on Gender-Inclusive Translation Technologies
GITT 2024 was co-organised by Janiça and Joke. This is the only dedicated workshop that focuses on gender-inclusive language in translation and cross-lingual scenarios.
The workshop also included presentations on research carried out members of our team:
1st International Workshop on Knowledge-Enhanced Machine Translation
Finally, KEMT 2024 was co-organized by Arda. The focus of this workshop is on research related to the incorporation of external knowledge in machine translation systems.
During this workshop, Thomas presented his preliminary study on leveraging synthetic monolingual data for fuzzy-match augmentation in neural machine translation.
It was another interesting and succesful conference!
