LT3 at EST 2025

Earlier this month, LT3 researchers traveled to Leeds for the 11th EST Congress, where the central theme was “The Changing Faces of Translation and Interpreting Studies.” LT3 was proud to contribute to the conversation across three different thematic panels.

At the panel “The Changing Face of Literary Translator Studies: A Dialogue between Academia and the Profession,” we discussed how to foster meaningful exchanges between literary translators and companies experimenting with literary post-editing.

We also presented at “The Changing Face of Literary Translation (Studies)”, where we shared research comparing how literary translators perceive and work with different tools — from traditional word processors to CAT tools and post-editing interfaces.

Lastly, at the “AI-enabled Accessibility” panel, we presented our MaTIAS project, which aims to improve access to information in asylum reception centres through a multilingual notification tool. The presentation sparked insightful discussion about the role of technology in enhancing inclusion.

All in all, it was a successful and inspiring week, full of thoughtful exchanges, practical insights, and exciting ideas for future research.
