On Tuesday 29 June, Véronique Hoste and Ayla Rigouts Terryn co-organised the second European Language Resource Coordination (ELRC) workshop with Stijn Desmeytere of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The workshop took place in Brussels at the beautiful Résidence Palace. Around 40 representatives from Belgian public services were present to discuss Belgium’s position and prospects in a digitally connected multilingual Europe. The importance of data sharing in the context of CEF eTranslation was highlighted, so the freely available EU machine translation service can be based on relevant data.
