Abstract

Modern translators have a variety of technologies at their disposal, ranging from simple word processing tools to fully automated translation tools. Apart from standard office software, the most commonly used translation tools include bilingual concordancers, translation memories, and data-driven machine translation systems. These tools provide solutions to different translation challenges by leveraging previously translated text. Bilingual concordancers and translation memories aid human translators by offering quick access to aligned source and target texts, while data-driven machine translation and generative AI models based on large language models automate translation using patterns learned from extensive datasets. Together, these technologies enhance the efficiency and accuracy of translation work.
